I have an old toilet flange which was a brass band on a iv" atomic number 82 curve that connects to the main cast atomic number 26 stack. The erstwhile brass flange ring corroded and broke. I found a squeamish PVC plumbing fixtures that fits snugly inside the old lead curve from Oatey but at present I demand to find a sealant that will attach to both the lead and the PVC. Or at least to the PVC.

I was going to use the plumbing equipment that has the mechanicaly expanding rubber gasket, simply this is also long and hits a radius of the pipage before the flange itself is fully seated to the floor.

The PVC fitting

  • The expanding flange that you had is the proper way to fix it -- how much farther would it need to go?

  • These pb elbows are very soft, I would non use any compression ring to exercise any connection. If the side of the pb piping buckled, it would be bad. Better to take out the whole lead role and supersede it with a neoprene hub adapter and PVC pipe and elbow.

you will need to supervene upon the lead closet curve with pvc or abs utilise a no hub coupler to connect the atomic number 82 to the plastic pipe

  • Can yous say why removing the old closet bend would be necessary here?
